Meryl Joan Lammers is a singer/songwriter and Board Certified Music Therapist who is a native of the Hudson Valley region in NY. She began to notice the potential of music to help people gain an overall sense of well-being during her live performances, when audience members would approach her to express gratitude for what her music made them feel. Moved by these positive experiences, she decided to help people to heal through the use of music, and in 2004 became a Music Therapy graduate of SUNY New Paltz. After completing an intensive internship at a local hospice company, Meryl earned the designation of Board Certified Music Therapist. She was trained in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA Therapy) at the Anderson Center for Autism, where she worked with over 130 autistic children who had behavioral and emotional issues, through the use of music therapy.
In 2006, in an effort to further her healing practice, she was attuned as a Reiki Master/Teacher, (12th generation Usui Method), and became a reverend. She spent time traveling the country during 2007 and 2008 performing music, when she settled on the East coast to continue her work in the healing arts. Meryl has served thousands of clients with a spectrum of needs, including hospice, children with autism, people experiencing PTSD, bereavement, dementia, and individuals suffering from drug and alcohol addiction. She has developed music therapy and healing arts programs for schools, a hospice company in PA, and a drug rehabilitation center in South Florida. She has focused her work on helping individuals through traumatic events, grief, loss, and physical pain by employing music therapy, counseling, meditation, and Reiki. In her spare time, Meryl has practiced many different forms of yoga, meditation, and has researched various spiritual paths. Meryl continues to write, record, and perform original music, paints, and spends time with her family in the Asheville Area.
